JOURNALISM PORTFOLIO

biography

I am currently studying Journalism at the University of Sheffield and working towards my NCTJ. This includes my skills in Shorthand (working towards 100 wpm), media law and essential reporting skills.
During my time in Sheffield I have been involved in writing for the University paper, Forge Press, Forge Radio station and magazine, Liberty Belle as well as various other student sites. This work is showcased in this online portfolio and I continuously work on expanding my experience in the media industry.
From 14 to 16 years old, I was an Advocate spokesperson for the national Girlguiding non-profit organisation whereby I was trained for various aspects of the media and experienced many interviews, conferences and events. At 17, I gained three months of work experience for the Kent Mercury newspaper and online and was an editor for the school magazine, “The Manwoodian”.
I have also been taught by various journalists, film and writing professionals during a film academy and University media residential experiences I had applied for.
My interests are broad and I write and report on a range of topics, however, I have a particular passion for writing about a balanced and fit lifestyle. In addition to my degree, I am currently working towards a level 2 and 3 Personal Trainer Qualification to expand my knowledge in this field and promote healthy living in the correct way to readers.
For many years, I have also written a blog and filmed videos for YouTube as a hobby, run three  blogs each one with a different focus and grew a vegan health and fitness social media account in my spare time.
